I have never had a problem with this but i know it is common. I wonder if this is common when it comes to cheap hosting or reseller hosting accounts.

Hey Bryce, great article here. There are a lot of good tips that I am going to apply to my website. Mainly the bullet points. I noticed that I don’t have any of my frontpage and it’d probably be a good way to catch the attention of potential customers.

I have to agree with the advice on Adsense. I’ve used that and various others such as WidgetBuck but all they tend to do is disract the user.

At the rates they pay (compared to attracting your own customer to pay an hourly rate!), it just isn’t worth it unless you have a huge volume of traffic.

Having headings or small boxes, with some images or icons on your main pages about your sub-sections can also help users a lot. They can simply scroll down your page to see what ever you have to offer on your website. The main page of a website is actually what grabs the attention of most users.

I like your site, very well thought out and presented. I may follow your lead on using forms to allow for live inquiries to web design services. I may be putting too many steps in front of the customer to inquire for my services.

Cory, a nice site you got there.. but perhaps you could let go of the links to other sites and stats on the home page as it gets the customer too confused.

Also, the home page looks too cluttered due to this. Keep things simple and to the point like Bryce mentioned perhaps have a look at my site to get a feel of the necessary information to be presented on the home page.

I like the advice for adsence, I have been looking into making some sort of profit from traffic on my website… may just rethink that…good point.

I just relocated my site to a new host (was hosting it myself) and I decided to redo just about the entire site. I’m curious as to what you all may think about the quality of my site and weather or not I am driving customers in or out. Can you all take a look and give me some feedback?
