AMD will soon release a video card with DirectX 11 technology. It will belong to the ATI Radeon line.

One of the features of this new version is being able to convert video on the fly, from a computer to a portable system. It will also make DVD playback smoother by letting both the CPU and the GPU work with it.

According to the article at PCWorld, it can also help Windows 7 recognize multicore systems. This would improve the performance of graphics and other softwares.

Nvidia has not made an announcement yet about releasing a graphics card with DirectX 11 technology.
