Searching for Applications:

There are probably some programs that you commonly used that aren’t in this list. To search for an application via the win-get command line, use the command: win-get search ApplicationName. You can also search by category, for example, to bring up audio applications, search for win-get search audio. You can also visit the website for the complete list of the repository located here: http://windows-get.sourceforge.net/listapps.php

Adding to the Repository
There are probably applications that you also use that aren’t in any of the Win-get lists so you may want to add your own applications.
First you’ll need to signup: http://windows-get.sourceforge.net/createuser.php

And then add via the following link: http://windows-get.sourceforge.net/newapp.php

The Restore Command:
This application has one more trick up its sleeve which makes it incredibly useful. Once logged in, you’ll notice little plus signs next to each application. These plus signs add those applications to your “Restore List” which is viewable under the My Profile link. This allows you to build up a list of applications that you frequently use which you can call upon with the following command: win-get.exe -u=MyUsername -p=MyPassword restore. This will download everything in the Restore list that you have saved on the win-get site. If you place this command in a BAT file you don’t even need to remember your username and password.

Now you can deploy the latest versions of software onto new computers quickly and easily.
