CRM Integration for Finance Software

Shares

Many Techs started out by simply providing services, and eventually a business built up around it, and they searched for business solutions such as CRM software and finance software as they needed it. Later down the road, you might find yourself tiring of switching from one CRM to another, and then back to your finance software, and then back to your CRM, making excessive use of text clipboards. CRM integration could save you a lot of time. What CRM solutions integrate with popular finance software models?

There’s actually a plethora of integration options for the most popular CRM solutions and finance software suites, more than can be covered briefly here, but let’s take a look at the most popular options and what integration options are available. One thing to keep in mind is that while one CRM solution may be all you need for your own business, it may not be the best solution for businesses in other size ranges, from a sole proprietor shop to a corporate enterprise. The focus is mostly on CRM solutions for Techs, but we’ll consider a few less focused CRM solutions as well.

RepairShopr

RepairShopr is another popular choice among computer repair technicians, for the flexibility as well as the amount of features available. It does offer integration with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop for Windows, but the online Sync Manger doesn’t integrate with QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. All of this integration is of course only available to paid accounts, but you can test it on a trial basis to see if it would work for you.

With RepairShopr, you can import QuickBooks customers, and sync customers, invoices, and payments to QuickBooks. Currently, inventory in QuickBooks doesn’t seem to be integrated, but could be a future feature.

RepairShopr doesn’t currently have support for other finance software solutions like SageOne, Freshbooks, Harvest, Waveapps, FreeAgent, or Zoho, but again, that could change.

Mhelpdesk

Mhelpdesk is a popular choice for many repair technicians. While it doesn’t offer integration with every popular finance software application, it does integrate with QuickBooks Desktop. For those with paid accounts, it also integrates with QuickBooks Online. From currently available information, it appears Mhelpdesk will eventually add support for QuickBooks Online Edition.

Mhelpdesk doesn’t currently have support for other finance software solutions like SageOne, Freshbooks, Harvest, Waveapps, FreeAgent, or Zoho, but that could change.

PC Repair Tracker

PC Repair Tracker unfortunately doesn’t have any support for finance software integration. When a request was made as to integration with QuickBooks, the answer was that there are no plans to provide any integration, as PCRT covers invoicing and receipts internally.

CommitCRM

CommitCRM offers QuickBooks integration for it’s users. With the integration link, you only enter data once and it synchronizes across both platforms, saving you the trouble of hunting down duplicate entries. The integration feature supports complete customer integration between platforms, vendor integration, item integration, including inventory, and invoicing.

While CommitCRM doesn’t offer any ‘out of the box’ integration with other finance applications, they do have an API you can work with, and it’s reportedly easier to implement integration with each successive release. It requires some developer skills, however, so if you need a solution now, you might want to go with something more established.

On the other hand, what if you’ve currently got a favorite finance solution, like Freshbooks, and you’re looking for a CRM that will provide integration options?

Freshbooks

Freshbooks is a great finance solution for small businesses like repair shops, and there are more integration options than I can discuss here, but you’ll find a list of them here, from time management with apps like my favorite simple time tracking app, Toggl, to popular CRM solutions like Capsule and Solve360. It also integrates with ZenPayroll for payroll options, and with AutoTask for IT project management as well as Basecamp. It even provides integration for POS solutions like Zen Cart.

Freshbooks can also compile data from accounting platforms such as Intacct, SAP, and Intuit solutions. For SugarCRM users, CloudWork allows you to sync data between solutions, including email, helpdesk, and finance data.

QuickBooks

QuickBooks integrates with Zoho CRM using Zoho CRM for QuickBooks. It synchronizes data between both solutions, either manually or automatically. For SugarCRM users, SugarOutfitters provides an integration solution that offers complete integration which allows you to sync customers, inventory, invoice history, sales orders, and more between both platforms. QuickBooks also has POS integration, payroll integration, and supports Salesforce CRM integration.

HubSpot

is another integration option that allows various CRM systems to integrate together, such as Salesforce, SugarCRM, Infusionsoft, Capsule, Nimble, Zoho, and more.
Time is an important resource these days, and if you’re spending too much time switching from one CRM to another and losing data and your sanity along the way, check out integration options, it may prevent a lot of headaches later down the road as you grow.

If you have any tips on integration options that you’ve found work great for you, drop a tip below!

You didn’t mention PODIO (https://podio.com/) which it’s very flexible and can do a lot for small business. Best part, it’s free and you can create your own apps with whatever fields you want. I love it!

  • Shawn says:

The only CRM application that you mentioned there is CommitCRM as the other software programs are not really CRM. Other CRM software programs would be ACT, Goldmine, Zoho CRM, Salesforce, Method CRM, etc.

    • Micah says:

Zoho and Salesforce are both mentioned in the article. However, while it’s a very popular CRM solution, compared with the other CRM solutions discussed, Salesforce doesn’t provide a focus on the computer repair industry like most of the other solutions discussed. As I brought out in the introduction, the focus was to be on CRM solutions for Techs.

    • Don Joseph says:

There are ACT! integrations for Sage BusinessWorks and QuickBooks that are quite capable. We have clients using both. They also allow transactions like quotes and orders to be originated from the ACt! side, even though they are actually being done in the financial software.

  • Sophia Walks says:

I wanna include the cloud based expense reporting tool from Replicon ( http://www.replicon.com/olp/expense-reports.aspx ) in this list.

  • Gabriel says:

Was wondering if anyone knows if WHMCS would be good clients software for PC repair?

    • Jody says:

WHMCS is not a great solution for anything unless you are working on websites and possibly if you sell products. It used to be a good solution for those things however there are much better solutions out there these days!

      • Gabriel says:

ok Thanks, I’m only asking because I get it free with my web hosting and didn’t want to use 2 didn’t Client software for web hosting & PC Repair.

  • Niork says:
