The networks of the U.K. Houses of Parliament has been hit by the Conficker worm. It slowed Parliamentary computer systems and locked out several accounts.
The issue has yet to be resolved but a memo has been released which notes that the staff were working with third party partners to clean infected computers.
It will be removed by an appropriate software to prevent further attacks.
The memo asked PICT users to remove all unauthorized PCs and laptops from the network according to the article at Channel Web.

Wow this thing is no joke. regardless of whether I have the worm or not, I think I’m going to unplug my PC on April 1st just to be sure. I’ve already patched my PC and I’ve also backed up on two diff external drives. I have a few years worth of software and files that I’d be devastated over losing.
My understanding is that you could already have the worm and not know it. April 1st might just be the trigger to activate it. Am I right?
It’s 10 a.m. in my country and no sign of conficker actions. Will it be more harmful than CIH several years ago?
It would see that, like most things, cornflicker failed to live up to media hype…
