A tool has been released which tests whether a user’s PC can handle the next Windows operating system from Microsoft which is currently called Windows 7.
In order to download the software, a user needs to have an account on Windows Sentinel. The software will collect data for a few hours. After it finished, the user should load the Windows 7 Compatibility Testing widget which would tell him or her whether his or her PC passed the test. If it failed, then there would be a note on why it did.
A lot of details has been written on what the widget does and users can read them by visiting the source link below.

Why the heck would anyone want to mess with this when they can’t even get Vista right yet. I thought people learned their lesson.
Even if this tool says Windows 7 will work, how well will it work and will it actually still be the same as it is now when it does get released? I mean come on look how poor Vista preforms unless you go way above the minimum requirements for ram.
This is one thing I will just leave to those always have to have the new and improved products before anyone else.
A compatibility tool for an OS that (theoretically) wont be released for another 18 months? I doubt they will even get close to the 2010 release date, much less get it right at that time
Sounds like the warmup for a bad Vista re-run to me.
Yeah, why do they even need to make new OS’s? Why don’t they just provide updates to people, and then more expensive updates cost money?
