Some users who updated their Windows XP machines with the MS10-015 update experienced the infamous blue screen of death.
One of the suggested fixes is to boot from a Windows CD or DVD and starting recovery sample. Then, uninstall the update which contain 11 fixes in Windows Kernel.
It is not clear why the problem only happen to some users.
Sunbelt, a security firm, advises people to not install the MS10-015 update yet.

Actually, it is clear now why it only happened to some people. The people affected had remnants of the TDSS rootkit. It didn’t handle the kernel changes very well and caused a bluescreen.
Maybe the poster check the Technibble forums before posting from such an unreliable source!
Microsoft has issued a security bulletin about this saying they still investigating the cause.

have not tried it, just thought I would pass this info along.
Had it happen last night on WS2003. Not only would it not reboot, it would not recognize the first three disks in the SCSI array (Disk 0=WS2003, Disk1= cache, Disks 2-6=raid5). Did a consistency checks in the SCSI BIOS and the system booted.
Looks like this happened to one of my clients. Dr. Webs Cureit from a live CD seemed to take care of it.
