The details of new features that will be in version 8 of AVG Anti-Virus have been released.
The upcoming version will have safe search features as well as an anti-spyware feature. Internet surfers will also be protected by Safe Surfing features which shows a warning if they visit insecure websites. However, the Safe Surfing features will only be available in the paid version of the Anti-Virus.
The Register notes that Safe Search and Safe Surfing features use the Linkscanner technology.
It will be available to a broader audience since it will be available in other languages besides English. This includes Italian and French.

Seems like most AV vendors are going with safe surf in their products. Glad to see AVG staying up. I really like their products.
I did have a problem with AOL v8 working using AVG 8 and Safe Search. After turning off the Safe Search, AOL v8 was able to connect.
I tried the new VI tried the new V8 and was disappointed. The link safe part of it slowed web browsing down made some pages 404. Its starting to look like Grisoft is going the way of Norton. Right now I cant recommend this to any of my clients; Looks as if Avast + Threatfire might be my new one two punch.
