The atom chips of Intel will support the Starter and Basic editions of Windows 7 according to PC World’s article. The atom microprocessors are designed for mobile devices like netbooks and Mobile Internet Devices.
It will also support Moblin v2.0 which is a Linux operating system that Intel developed. The alpha version of the OS is now available at moblin.org.
XP Home and Vista Basic will still be supported by the chips in the second half of this year.
