The latest version of Apple’s web browser garnered 11 million downloads. The statistic is based after three days when it was unveiled at the company’s world wide developers conference.
“Safari 4 is an incredible success on Mac and Windows with more than 11 million downloads in the first three days. Safari users love the incredible speed and innovative features like Top Sites, Full History Search and Cover Flow,” said the senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing.

My concern with Safari, with the clients I have, is the amount of resources it takes up. The eye candy is great for high end machine users, but with most my customers, I don’t believe this to be a solution. Am I correct in this assumption?
I don’t believe 11 people actually requested the download more like most people were pushed the download. See http://community.winsupersite.com/blogs/paul/archive/2009/06/12/11-million-safari-downloads-um-sort-of.aspx
I wonder how many of those 11 Million Downloads are the ones that automatically get downloaded when you update iTunes? I have worked on several customers’ computers that had no idea that Safari had been installed on their PC and never used it.
